INDIVIDUAL THERAPY offers you a journey of re-discovery to establish your strengths to help you deal with whatever issue you are dealing with that may be making you feel dissatisfied, unhappy or experience other distressing feelings. COUPLE/MARITAL THERAPY focuses on re-building or re-kindling your relationship. Effort is made to help you and your partner understand each other better. Every couple goes through up’s and down’s in their relationship. This is the natural progression of relationships. If you are struggling to manoeuvre through this process, therapy might be suited for you. PRE-MARITAL COUNSELING unpacks the dynamics of marriage to enable you to be more equipped as you enter your married life. ONLINE COUNSELLING may be your method of choice for counselling. If this is the case I offer sessions via Zoom and Skype. I offer therapy to adults and adolescents in the following areas: Bereavement Depression Anxiety Management Trauma Debriefing Adjustment Difficulties – life changes such as marriage, relocation and motherhood HIV/AIDS Related Counselling Personal Growth and Development – exploring childhood experiences that may negatively affect your current behaviour Career Counselling Eating disorders Individual Counselling sessions are usually the duration of an hour. RELATIONSHIP THERAPY/COUPLE COUNSELLING Relationship Therapy sessions are the duration of 60 or 90 minutes. If you feel that a longer session would be useful, you are welcome to speak to me about this. Among other trains of thought I use the principles from Solution Focused Therapy and Imago Relationship Therapy. Pre-marital Counselling sessions are offered to further boost your relationship and better prepare you for marriage. ONLINE COUNSELLING The traditional method of counselling is face to face. For various reasons i.e. the busy pace of life and logistics, this may sometimes not be accessible. Some people may also prefer more indirect ways of counselling rather than face to face. If this modality suits you I offer online sessions via Skype and Zoom. For more information contact me. ELECTRONIC COUPLE WORKSHOP Attending face to face therapy can sometimes pose a challenge. This is particularly the case for couples due to them trying to synchronize their diaries. To deal with this I have developed an electronic couple workshop which you can do in the comfort of your home. This workshop comprises of useful exercises to boost your relationship. The workshop does not substitute face to face counselling. It may be used as an add-on to counselling or for relationships which are not in distress but where you are looking for tools to get your relationship to an even better space. For more information contact me.

Mediation and Parenting Plans Family courts and attorneys request both Mediation and the compilation of a Parenting Plan in line with the new requirements for a divorce procedure. In terms of Section 33 (1) of the Children’s Act, (38 of 2005), the co-holders of parental responsibilities and rights in respect of a child may agree on a Parenting Plan to determine the implementation of their responsibilities and rights relating to the child. The Mediation sessions include tailoring a Parenting Plan to meet the needs of the unique family and in particular the children. The number of sessions is usually determined by the family and the level of co-operation exercised between parents. Mediation usually occurs pre-divorce although some issues can be tackled during or after a divorce. Child-inclusive-mediation (CIM) is an effective method of determining how parenting can be implemented to meet the child’s unique and specific needs. Depending on the age of the child, the child is consulted with regards to the finalisation of the Parenting Plan. Parenting Plan A Parenting Plan is a written agreement made between the parents of a child/ren containing aspects pertaining to: the care of the child (e.g. decision-making related to emotional, psychological, educational, spiritual, physical well-being) contact with the child (e.g. living arrangements) financial responsibility for the child (e.g. maintenance, educational and medical expenses) the appointment of a parent-substitute for the child incidental matters and any other aspect of a parental responsibility for the child which are related to the raising of the child/children that are being discussed by the mother or other person having parental responsibilities upon the biological father or other person having an interest in the care, well-being and development of the child.
