The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation was founded by Allan Gray in 2005 out of his dream to create a sustainable contribution to the country, by helping students who are the future entrepreneurs of Southern Africa.
The Foundation receives its funding from the donation of Allan Gray Limited’s taxed profits. The Foundation currently operates in 4 countries across Africa, namely South Africa; Namibia; Swaziland and Botswana.
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship programme aims to provide funding for students to study at university level, as well as providing support and development for those who demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset.
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is inviting students to apply for their Fellowship Programme, for the 2024 academic year.
The fellowship (bursary) will be awarded for undergraduate degree studies within these fields:
The Fellowship Programme aims to help students by cultivating entrepreneurship in Fellows, and ensuring that the Programme results in learners seeking to create entrepreneurship opportunities. Successful candidates will be boarded as Candidate Allan Gray Fellows.

Students from a household with a total annual income of R1 million and BELOW will receive full funding, and students from a household with a total annual income of MORE than R1 million will receive needs-based funding.
Students also receive support for personal development (mentorship, industry mentor and like-minded community); access to entrepreneurial mindset development (workshops, speakers and seminars, access to business incubation and experiential exercises)
