Now in its fifth year, Waterfall Preparatory has seen tremendous growth. Passionate staff are constantly asking ‘why’ and strive to provide a peaceful environment in which children are empowered to learn, unearthing the treasure in every child. Relationships and connection are key to the ethos of the school. Pupils take part in music and drama, and a range of sports with inter-school fixtures.

Religious
We believe that each child is created by God, with a plan and purpose for their life in its uniqueness and with the treasures that He has laid within. We encourage and model the example set by Jesus Christ in loving and respecting all people and of seeking the good in them. We aim to interact using actions and words that build and celebrate each other.

At Waterfall Prep, we believe that learning should be an organic process guided by passionate teachers, with a focus on creating a peaceful environment where every child is secure in their own identity. This provides a solid foundation for creative discovery and a lifelong love of learning. With a maximum class size of 24, there is time for each child to receive individual attention from their teacher. We follow the CAPS curriculum, as set down by the Department of Basic Education, with additional elements added in preparation for the IEB requirements of high school. A carefully-considered approach to assessment enables qualified teachers to monitor progress and guide learning, while reducing anxiety.

Day School

Waterfall Prep pupils take part in music and drama, with a range of extra-murals available, including Eco Club, Art Club and Creative Writing.

At Waterfall Prep, we encourage our children to live a healthy lifestyle, which includes participating in sport on our beautiful 41-acre campus, spending time outdoors during the school day and by taking part in local sports leagues. Our sporting programme is aimed to be fun and allow the opportunity for our boys and girls to move their muscles and strengthen their core. We value the many benefits of sport, including boosted self-esteem, fitness, teamwork and friendship. We believe that sport is an important part of a well-rounded education, but that it should not be a cause of anxiety – particularly at Prep level. As such, we encourage participation, but it is not compulsory. Sports include: hockey, soccer, netball, cricket, touch rugby, cross country and mountain biking.
